Licensed practical nurse students

A person studying outside Finland for a licensed practical nurse (LPN) diploma may work temporarily as a LPN before graduation and before a Finnish institute training LPNs approves the diploma. However, in that case the student cannot use the occupational title of a LPN but a LPN student. 

In addition, also persons studying in Finland for a LPN diploma may work as a LPN before graduation. However, even in that case the student cannot use the occupational title of a LPN but a LPN student.

The employer must make sure that the student has completed sufficient studies and has enough language skills and professional skills to work safely.
